About this role

We are recruiting for an Estimator to join our Security and Healthcare Technologies division.

Ideally this position would be based in Burnaby or Victoria, BC. However, we would consider candidates in different parts of BC or Canada, with relocation and remote working options available.

Estimator responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a critical role for the team, ensuring every project begins with proper, professional estimation.
  • Create accurate and timely estimates for a variety of security and healthcare technology projects across BC.
  • Review specifications, identifying systems and system counts as well as any cost and risk factors.
  • Compile RFIs to clarify requirements where there may be ambiguity, options, or competitive advantage.
  • Complete take offs, device counts, and compile an estimate based on site requirements, complexity, labour, material and equipment costs needed to meet specifications.
  • Obtain quotations from vendors and suppliers.
  • Complete site visits as required.
  • Presentation of estimate, assumptions, risks and estimating process for multiple reviews.
  • Submission of budgets and/or legally binding quotations.

Your experience and skills

  • 3 or more years of experience estimating security and healthcare projects
  • Security (access control, CCTV and intrusion detection) and Healthcare Technology (nurse call, RTLS, systems integrations) industry and product knowledge required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Good understanding of estimating practices and methods,
  • Strong computer skills, high proficiency in Microsoft suite and experience using Accbubid an asset.
  • Familiarity with RFI process and Contract Law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, and/or Ascom preferred.

Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will depend on your experience, skills and overall match to the position offered. Let's chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.
